OUR VISION
In 2020, during the worst pandemic to hit our country and the world, the need for coordinated services for children experiencing violence or poverty reached a crisis state. C³ Community Collaboration for Children was created as an innovative non-profit provider based on data gained from a pilot initiative in 2016. C³ partners with other community agencies to focus on a “child-up” approach instead of a “family-down” structure to make sure services reach the child. C³ receives referrals from various sources (schools, police department, Family Justice Center, partner agencies, churches, community members, etc.). After ascertaining the individualized needs of the child in crisis, C³ then connects with community groups to provide specific wrap-around support services through direct involvement and case management.
“At first I didn’t understand why they cared about me so much. I didn’t trust anyone to really help me, but C³ has been there and continues to help me.” -LB
C³ is focused on the health and well-being of children by “walking the walk” with them. During the past year, we have provided assistance with medical appointments, mental health counseling, referrals to the Sandhills Center, rent/utility assistance, camp scholarships for children who have experienced violence, food assistance, after-school and summer camp enrichment, shelter for homeless children/families, furniture for setting-up apartments after being homeless, school supplies, equipment for special needs children, technology hardware for virtual schooling, etc. In the past year, we have coordinated services with more than 30 other agencies in the High Point area.
“My officers have big hearts and often come back to the station upset that there isn’t more they can do for the families they have encountered during the day. That’s when I tell them I’m going to contact C³, because they serve as connectors between agencies that can help out. I tell my officers “Don’t worry - C³ will find a way to thelp the family!” The officers then feel they have done something more - they got C³ involved.
